A lawyer who started by listening

Clyde L. Lemon, Esq.

Criminal defense, estate planning, and probate — practiced personally, in Florida and South Carolina.

Clyde LeMark Lemon grew up in St. George, South Carolina — a town where you knew the people you helped because you saw them at church, at the grocery store, and at the football game on Friday. That’s the kind of legal practice he wanted to build.

Education and training

Clyde earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Benedict College, graduating magna cum laude in 2006. He went on to complete a Master of Science in Juvenile Justice from North Carolina Central University and a Master of Science in Criminology from Florida State University before earning his Juris Doctor from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2018. In 2021, he passed the bar examinations in both Florida and South Carolina.

Public defender experience

Clyde began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender with the Ninth Judicial Circuit, representing clients in Orange and Osceola counties. That experience — high caseload, high stakes, hands-on trial work — shaped how he practices today: prepared, candid with clients about what’s realistic, and focused on the outcome rather than the performance.

Bar leadership

Clyde was selected as a fellow of The Florida Bar Leadership Academy, Class XIII — a competitive statewide program that develops the next generation of bar leaders. He serves on the Board of the Orange County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section (2025–26, 2026–28). With the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association, Clyde was honored with the 2024–25 President’s Award and currently co-chairs the Youth Outreach Committee.

Pro bono recognition

Clyde has volunteered with Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida since 2022, handling record sealing and expungement and voting rights restoration for clients who could not otherwise afford counsel. In 2025, CLS named him a Pro Bono Ambassador. His work has been featured by News 6 (WKMG) and The Daily 2 on WFTV. See Recognition & Press for the full list.

Practice today

C. Lemon Law focuses on estate planning, criminal defense, record sealing and expungement, probate, and guardianship. Clyde takes a limited number of cases at a time so that every client gets direct access to him — not a paralegal, not a junior associate.

Clyde is an avid photographer, swimmer, and weightlifter. He believes the discipline that keeps him in the gym is the same discipline that prepares a case file.
